Another plane from WWI – thanks to Liz from the AWM – this plane is an Albatros D.Va

Graham and I visited our daughter in Canberra on the long weekend in March and whilst there, we visited the Australian War Memorial. The pics for the next few days are from the Memorial. If you are into war history or planes, I’m sure you’ll enjoy these! I’ve been trying to locate the names for them as I neglected to write them down as I was photographing them! Fortunately Graham knew some of them.

The scotch thistles are out. They are a weed and I need to get rid of them but, as yet, unable to work in the garden. However, they do make for good subject matter when taking photos. And I love their colours when they’re in flower.
I’m now getting back outside into my garden, which is such a blessing. It’s not until you lose the use of something for sometime (in my case a foot and leg) that you don’t realise how much it means to you. So glad to be walking again, even if slowly. Yesterday I enjoyed the afternoon [...]

A photo of a blue banded bee I took led me to a path of discovery. I began researching to find out what kind of bee it was. I've actually learnt lots of things since that day and can now name almost every bird in this region and identify it by its call too.
