Beautiful rose

As I’ve not been out in my garden over the past few weeks I’ve really missed seeing my roses in bloom. I get to see a couple outside my window but that has been it. But last week I was able to be outside for awhile and noticed the beautiful Double Delight in full bloom.  Isn’t it beautiful?  This rose has a magnificent scent too and is very prolific in its flowering.

With spring comes the bugs

We’ve had a lot of flies turning up lately and suspect eggs have hatched somewhere in or close to the house. Very annoying.  Outside there’s been an array of colourful bugs arrive in the garden.  The top one below is a Hover Fly but I’m yet to find out what the sparkly green bug is.

Tulip Festival

During the week I took off to the annual Tulip Festival held in the Dandenong Ranges at Tesselaar’s property.  I’ll be sharing a few images with you over the next few days.

Hover Fly and Daisy

Our daisies are now in full flower, and along with the Spring flowers and rains, the insects have come out to work as well.  I find the Hoverfly most fascinating to watch and they have a very shiny body.  This one didn’t seem to mind my getting reasonably close, although I really should have had my macro lens on instead but still got fairly close.

Winter daisies

There are quite a few flowers starting to show now.  The daisies are out, and the camelias. We’ve got bulbs springing up all over our property. These are always a surprise as we didn’t plant most of them. I’ll share them with you as they flower over time.  Below are yellow daisies and a white one.

Teamwork

I love walking around the garden to see what I can spy. Sometimes I have to race back inside to get my Macro lens – not everything can be caught on my long lens.  These two were working on opposite sides of the same flower – a lavender.
