Spring activity

The bees are buzzing and aflying, and collecting pollen…. The blackberry is out in flower and the bees are doing their thing.

Welcome to all new subscribers from the Grassroots Community Market in Upwey on the weekend. It was good to meet you all and I appreciate you stopping by my stall.

The colours of Christmas

I only just realised a couple of weeks ago that the colours of the Bottle Brush are Christmas colours.  At least of the red bottle brush, I’ve seen a pink one and another that’s close to purple.

Shot this one just after the rain a few days ago.

Spring flowers

The beauty of spring is well and truly with us now here in Victoria, Australia. These were taken at Cloudehill recently – a favourite place to visit. You can find out more about Cloudehill Nursery and grounds here.

It makes me feel that I should be out in my own garden. They’re not forecasting too much rain for this weekend, perhaps I might!

Beautiful day in Olinda

Went to Cloudehill today with friends and it was beautiful in spring colours!

Spring flowers

The flowers are starting to show abundantly in our garden now, with the mix of Spring rains and sunshine. The garden looked drab throughout winter but has sprung to life again and has lots of colour. This is just a small selection – a beautifully rich dark purple Iris and white Lilies.

Wattle Blossom

As winter begins to fade and spring is emerging the wattle blossom is very prevalent all over the countryside, with its bright yellow showing up quite clearly between the greens and greys of the hillsides.
