Such a beautiful day yesterday (Sunday) here in Melbourne and the first round of the Melburn Cyclocross was on at Lysterfield Lake Park. My husband and I went to spend some of the afternoon there to watch the bike race and for me to get my hand back in at some action photography. I miss the bike races. My husband was racing up until his accident some months ago so we haven’t been to one for sometime. The race was open to both juniors and adults in several categories.

Getting ready for the ride

One of the great things about where we live is the number of bike tracks locally and a great mountain biking facility less than 10 mins drive away. My husband is a keen mountain biker and here he is getting ready for a ride.

Vic MTB Enduro in Albury

On the weekend my husband was participating in an MTB race at Albury. It was a 6 hour enduro and he was in a duo and there were two more friends in another duo. Their team name is Team Sally. They’re in pink tops. If you want to see all the pics then click here.

It’s always fun watching riders get ‘air’ as they go over the jumps. It’s even more fun trying to catch it on camera at just the right moment!

When you’re at these MTB races you certainly see some interesting face expressions! These are a small selection from the Castlemaine MTB race last Sunday.

Castlemaine MTB

I was at the Castlemaine Mountain Biking race on the weekend, supporting my husband and his team, as always. However, now I have my camera the guys see more of me on the track as I take their photos than they do of me in their tent manning the station.

Whistler Bikes

In the winter it’s a ski resort, but in the summer Whistler is a MTB destination and they have lots of bikes for rent!

I took a walk along Mahogany Track to see if I could see any different birdlife. But I was soon interrupted by this team of MTB riders. My husband is the second from the front and thought I should have taken a photo of them as they were coming towards me. So I thought I’d take one as they were leaving me.

I really am enjoying taking action shots at the mountain bike races. I wonder what the riders think seeing themselves in action?
